The Baptism of the Cloud, the Sea and the Fire

Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea (from the root: salt); And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

Now these things were our examples (a figure; a copy; a paradigm), to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted (emphasis mine). 1 Corinthians 10:1-6

Father has a gift for us. He is inviting us to share an experience with His Son that has been set aside for His Bride - the Sons of the End of The Day, at least for those to whom it has been given.

Let’s first see what Moses is showing us with the Baptism of the Red Sea…

The Lord gave the Egyptian Hagar, Mount Sinai, her justice for rejecting her seed from the Inheritance. He ordained it that Abraham’s promised lineage would have to enter into and endure the limitation of the World System of Egypt and ultimately become enslaved by it. He made sure to tell Abraham about it in His proclaimed covenant because He also needed Abraham to know salvation would come to his generations and through his generations. 

And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him. And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land [that is] not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. 

Genesis 15:12-14

Our Father is constantly showing His people the ending from the beginning.

Now it has been 430 years and our Father is going to fulfill His promise. He raises up Moses to lead the children of Israel out of their affliction and bondage just like He said He would. And where does our most incredible God lead the congregation of Abraham’s family… right into Baptism. Salvation from the World, Father leads His family straight into Baptism. 

This Red Sea Baptism sanctifies the Lord’s people by a type of generational deliverance. Moses hurries them dry through the waters as the Task Master chases down his possession; the great house of the bloodlines of self-proclaimed gods who inflict their will onto a people they can never, ever hope to truly own. Over four hundred years of this army’s crushing cruelty would be annihilated in the waters of Baptism. Death would become Life and be preserved by a Salt Covenant between God and His people. Generations of abuse, trauma, injustice, and hatred washed away, removed from the lineage, making His people new.

But the Lord shows us in the above scripture that the Great House of the one true God was also baptized into the Cloud, a type and shadow of a mass baptism of the Holy Spirit. And see the fruit of His Spirit that baptism produced…

Yet thou in thy manifold mercies forsookest them not in the wilderness: the pillar of the cloud departed not from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to shew them light, and the way wherein they should go. Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst. Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, [so that] they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not. Moreover thou gavest them kingdoms and nations, and didst divide them into corners: so they possessed the land of Sihon, and the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan. Their children also multipliedst thou as the stars of heaven, and broughtest them into the land, concerning which thou hadst promised to their fathers, that they should go in to possess [it] (emphasis mine). Nehemiah 9:19-23

It was Holy Spirit who multiplied Father’s children (just like He multiplied to the Church with the outpouring of His Spirit on the day of Pentecost), keeping their feet from swelling and their clothing fresh, giving them Water, the Rock, Jesus Christ and giving them victory in battle. They lacked for nothing. It was all the beautiful work of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit! 

Let’s look at the cloud.

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night [from] before the people (emphasis mine). Exodus 13:21-22 (We’re going to find out that this is still true, in a sense, today!)

And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians (emphasis mine)... Exodus 14:24

The cloud is the covering of Holy Spirit. Our fathers were under the cloud. 

And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. Exodus 19:9

Aaron met with Father in a cloud behind the veil at the mercy seat.

And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy [place] within the vail before the mercy seat, which [is] upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat. Leviticus 16:2

Remember when His cloud showed up in the sanctuary? It was a foreshadowing of Pentecost…

It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers [were] as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up [their] voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD, [saying], For [he is] good; for his mercy [endureth] for ever: that [then] the house was filled with a cloud, [even] the house of the LORD; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God (emphasis mine). 

2 Chronicles 5:13-14

The cloud is also in the New Testament…

When Jesus takes away His inner circle of disciples up into the mountain and becomes transfigured in front of them, He does it inside a cloud. And the voice of our Father speaks the revelation of His Son, from inside this same cloud…

While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud. And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him (emphasis mine). Luke 9:34-35

Jesus ascended into Heaven in a cloud…

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. Acts 1:9

Jesus is coming back inside the cloud… (and as a side note, this scripture seems to give us a sense of a timing associated with His return. This sounds very much like the sixth seal and if you read Revelation 7:9-17 you will see the ingathering has happened just after/during the sixth seal, before the seventh seal.)

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. Luke 21:25-28

This brings us to the Fire. 

And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud. And the sight of the glory of the LORD [was] like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel (emphasis mine). Exodus 24:16-17

On the holy mountain, the Lord is in the Cloud and the Fire. But both were there with them all along… see the scripture one more time…

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night [from] before the people (emphasis mine). Exodus 13:21-22

The Fire is there with the Lord’s people just like the Cloud, but it is not mentioned as a baptism like the other two... until we hear the voice of one crying out in the wilderness.

John answered, saying unto [them] all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire (emphasis mine)… Luke 3:16

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:1-4

The fire is reserved for the night… 

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this [shall be] a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:8-14

I believe it’s possible the Lord Jesus marked the end of the Day; the beginning of the night season coming into the earth, by a shared angelic encounter of the Kingdom of God breaking forth into the earth. 

These shepherds teach us that humility in the ministry is showered with an open heaven and massive revelation. Not one person of Israel knew that the King of Heaven had arrived on earth. And the angels proclaimed to these shepherds - not prophets, not the pharisees or the scribes - but the shepherds, the gospel of peace and the declaration that our Father’s will toward mankind is good came to the pastors. The real pastors who nobody knew.  

But the end of all things is at hand… 1 Peter 4:7

But He also marked that the night was coming on the Cross.

Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me (emphasis mine)? Matthew 27:45-46

Jesus told us the night would come, The night cometh…

I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. John 9:4

For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Isaiah 60:2-3

Jesus came with a new baptism that would mark and be necessary for the last days witness (martyr) overcomer and John the Baptist tells us about it…

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and [with] fire: Whose fan [is] in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. Matthew 3:11-12

John the Baptist tells us that Jesus is bringing a Baptism of the Holy Ghost and a Baptism of Fire. We have been taught that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is the Baptism of Fire, and while it is true, I’m not so sure it’s the whole and entire understanding… I believe there is yet a fullness of the Baptism of Fire to be baptized into. I believe that the cloven tongues that sat on their heads at Pentecost were a type of first fruits of the Baptism of Fire. Just like the open graves at Jesus’s crucifixion were a first fruit of resurrection life for Believers. The Lord does it this way. He gives a forerunning taste - a glimpse of what He is bringing.

Let’s look one more time…

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night [from] before the people. Exodus 13:21-22

Remember what we read in 1 Corinthians?

What about the Fire that was also present with them????

The Baptism of Fire was introduced later, at the end, by John the Baptist to be given by Jesus Christ. The Fire is necessary for the last days. The Lord is in the Cloud and in the Fire. The Cloud is Him and the Fire is Him.

We see in the last days that the top of the mountain is where the Lord establishes His house… 

And it shall come to pass in the last days, [that] the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob (emphasis mine)… Isaiah 2:2-3a

And as we remember seeing on Mount Sinai, He is in the Cloud in the mountain and He is in the Fire in the mountain.

And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud. And the sight of the glory of the LORD [was] like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the eyes of the children of Israel (emphasis mine). Exodus 24:16-17

And we also see the two witnesses who come at the end of days, during the seventh seal have the Baptism of Fire…

And I will give [power] unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred [and] threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will (emphasis mine). Revelation 11:3-6

This brings us now to you and me. We’re clearly in the last days…or at the end of days when it becomes night… We're familiar with water baptism, but we are learning about this spiritual mountain that is being established. We know the Spirit of our Father is in the Cloud and the Fire. We know that the Baptism of the Holy Spirit gives us power to be witnesses. We also know that a witness is a martyr, like the disciples and many, many brothers and sisters before us, so not every Believer is going to be excited about this Fire baptism. 

But that Fire is in Jesus Christ’s eyes... I want to become one with that prevailing, fiery Lion of the Tribe of Judah. 

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him [was] called Faithful and TRUE, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes [were] as a flame of fire, and on his head [were] many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies [which were ] in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS (emphasis mine). Revelation 19:11-16

Baptize us with Your Fire, Lord Jesus! Burn in us and show us the way to go in the dark…Jesus - make us one with You - transform us into Your image - cause us to know You as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah and bring us into Your Holy Mountain!

Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread [the grapes], against all the inhabitants of the earth. A noise shall come [even] to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them [that are] wicked to the sword, saith the LORD. Jeremiah 25:30-31

The Church in Jerusalem 

1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

2 In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth [shall be] excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel. 

3 And it shall come to pass, [that he that is] left in Zion, and [he that] remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, [even] every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem: 

4 When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning. 

5 And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory [shall be] a defence. 

6 And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain. Isaiah 4

The Lord showed my brother in the Lord, Nathan, that these women are the seven candlesticks in the book of Revelation. This is the church! The land is going to be healed from the bloodshed of wars and will become excellent again to feed the church in Zion, at Jerusalem. Their names will be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

This is the vision of Israel we set our prayer toward. And His cloud by day, the covering of Holy Spirit, and His shining flame of fire by night - the victory of the Lion of the Tribe of Judah will be where they had always been - as a defense for the Holy People who were delivered from the slavery of the spirit of the world. The Baptism of the Cloud and the Baptism of Fire set apart for the New Man. The blessing of Joseph - the congregation who walks on the West side .... grafted in to the most Holy Pleasant Land.

And the Tabernacle (this is an understanding of the Feast of Tabernacles) will be established as the place of Hope. Safety. Protection. A refuge from the storm and rain. 

This is a type and shadow of The Congregation of the North who dwell under the Covering of Holy Spirit in the top of the mountain in the Kingdom of God (Isaiah 2 and Micah 4). It’s where Jesus the Bread, feeds us the Lion’s meat. The most coveted place in the Spirit - the secret that the enemy will never ever know… and oh how he longs to. The devil, who loves to go by a long lost name lucifer, established secret oaths and rituals of mystic secret societies in the earth trying to touch and know this most Holy of Holies Place in the Spirit. What a failed, putrid counterfeit that has ruled from our Father’s Holy Land, inside the hijacked and indoctrinated unholy priesthood of the leopard. 

The Secret Place is for the Lioness, Ariel. The Bride. The Sons of God. The New Jerusalem.

But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light… 1 Peter 2:9

How awesome is our Father to give us the deliverance of the Sea and the protection and leading of the Cloud to know Him in the day and the Fire to know Him in the night! The fullness of His holy baptism. May we all come into who He is and who He is making us To Be. Amen.

And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.

Isaiah 65:9
